M&A, Integration and Inorganic Growth

Delivering full value across the deal lifecycle

Mergers, acquisitions and other inorganic growth strategies are central to how organisations drive accelerated growth and improved performance but delivering their full value is far harder than closing the deal.

Whether acquiring new capabilities, entering new markets, forming strategic partnerships or reshaping portfolios, inorganic growth has become a core part of how organisations evolve and compete.

Yet most deals under deliver, not because the strategy is wrong, but because planning starts too late, and execution is fragmented or incomplete.

The challenge: how do you de‑risk delivery, move faster than competitors, and realise full deal value, without disrupting business as usual?

Why Oaklin for M&A?

We offer senior led, independent comprehensive support focused on delivering outcomes, not just closing transactions or managing integrations.

We bring together transformation and delivery capability with deep, specialist expertise across all aspects of M&A, divestments and alliances, helping you get the most from your deals, quickly and smoothly.

Outcomes you can expect

  • Faster value capture and increased synergy realisation
  • Lower execution and delivery risk across the deal lifecycle
  • Minimal disruption to day-to-day operations
  • Improved retention of key talent and customers

Our service offerings

M&A and Integration - Delivering deal objectives and getting back to business

M&A is often central to growth strategies. But without early consideration of post-close challenges and opportunities, detailed planning, clear ownership, and disciplined execution, even well-structured deals struggle to deliver value.

We support clients across the full M&A lifecycle, from strategy and due diligence through Day 1 and full value creation, maintaining momentum while protecting your ongoing business.

We support clients across:

  • M&A strategy, target identification, assessment and approach
  • Due diligence, valuation and transaction support
  • Synergy identification, tracking and value realisation
  • Operating model, systems and organisational design
  • Post-close and Day 1 planning and readiness
  • Culture, communications and change management
  • Strengthening in-house teams, processes and capabilities

Alliances and Alliance Management - Building partnerships that deliver long-term value

Alliances and joint ventures can unlock faster, lower risk access to markets, capabilities and innovation, but only if governance, incentives and operating models work in practice.

We help organisations design, launch, manage and reinvigorate alliances, partnerships and joint ventures to deliver sustained value throughout their lifecycle.

We support clients across:

  • Alliance and JV strategy
  • Alliance partner selection, assessment and alignment
  • Launch readiness and execution
  • Operating model and governance design
  • Ongoing alliance management, performance reviews and resets
  • Resolution of alliance issues and under-performance
  • Improving internal alliance management capabilities

Separations and Divestments - Carving out complexity while protecting value

Separations and divestments are often more complex than acquisitions. Value is lost when separations disrupt operations, create execution drag, or leave stranded costs behind.

We deliver quick, controlled, low risk separations and divestments that protect value for sellers and buyers.

We support clients across:

  • Separation and divestment strategy
  • Buyer value identification, valuation and CIM development
  • Vendor due diligence and transaction management
  • TSA design and operationalisation
  • Systems, data and operating model separation
  • Programme management, communications and Day 1 readiness
