What we look for

We only recruit the best consultants, irrespective of their backgrounds. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce, and everyone has the opportunity to shape and influence the business. Oaklin is proud to offer the best of both big and small firms, alongside a highly-competitive package of benefits to attract and retain the best talent.

When and why did you join Oaklin?

I joined Oaklin in January 2022, I joined because I was looking for a new challenge and felt like the flat structure would be able to offer me the opportunity to develop my skills and furthur my career in consulting. I also loved every stage of the interview process. It was so refreshing meeting genuinely kind people. This reassured me that there was already a great culture established within Oaklin.

What has been your highlight so far?

The highlight so far for me is one of the events hosted by the Oaklin Women’s Network. A guest speaker named Stef Sword Williams was invited to speak to us about self-belief and how to block out self-doubt. The speaker did an amazing job in highlighting the power of self-belief to promote the development of your career and your personal life. Oaklin takes great interest in not only developing hard skills but soft skills that make all the difference to your day-to-day work and how you feel towards your development.

Most rewarding project and why?

My most recent project saw me lead the digital programme for the launch of a new 4x4 across 36 markets globally. From day one I was thrust into the exciting world of all things ‘Automotive’ which allowed me to learn about the nuances of the industry whilst delivering essential programme management experience to an agile team. I quickly broadened my professional network and it has allowed me to work with experts in their field.

How does Oaklin feel different from the other places you have worked for?

Oaklin feels quite different from other places I’ve worked because they are small but mighty. We are fortunate enough to work with some of the most successful organisations across the UK & are consistently trusted for our exceptional client delivery by industry leaders. You can accelerate your career without the internal politics that you would otherwise face at a large hierarchical organisation.

When and why did you join Oaklin?

I joined in March 2019 because I was looking for a new challenge and felt that I could make the most impact at a smaller firm. It was clear to me that I would have autonomy to make changes, have the flexibility in what work I could do, and be able to pursue my interests both in and out of work.

What has been your highlight/highlights so far?

Ah so many… but building a training curriculum for all, establishing an alumni network, securing sponsorship for the GB Tag Rugby team, driving an ESG agenda to name a few. I’m passionate about people, sport, and our environment so being able to bring those together alongside the day job makes for a very fulfilled role.

Most rewarding project and why?

Probably helping two Government organisations, during a time of national crisis, come together. My team and I designed and implemented a technology operating model for the merged organisation’s CIO and helped migrate 15k users safely. It was the most rewarding for two reasons. Firstly, we made a real difference and helped set up a world leading organisation for success. Secondly, the operating model that we designed became the gold standard for all other functions in the organisation. It’s pretty cool when you know that our work is regarded to that level.

What have been your highlights so far?

Spending a year in Trinidad, leading a major programme, and being adopted by a local Hindu congregation is right up there and hard to beat. I made lifelong friends, learnt hands-on about a beautiful religion, went swimming in the jungle, and helped numerous community projects – all whilst being fed unbelievable food!
